There's Something Going On Up There

Governor Neil Abercrombie replaced the Young Turks with the Old Guard and then there was a replacement at DBEDT. For some reason most efforts to cover the story missed the real story.
Governor Abercrombie’s New Day: “Hawaii’s most important economic enterprise right now is to pursue energy independence.”
January 2011: “Estrella A. Seese has been appointed acting Energy Administrator of the Hawaii State Energy Office of the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism. ...’Estrella has the depth and breadth of knowledge about the energy issues and challenges facing Hawaii. I am confident that under her leadership she will be able to work with the outstanding staff at the Energy Office to help the state reach the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative goal of 70 percent clean energy by 2030,’ said DBEDT Interim Director Richard Lim.”
Estrella oversaw Big Wind, DBEDT’s Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit & Expo held at the Convention Center, and preparations for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) gathering this November. In June she was elected to the Executive Committee of the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), the non-profit organization of energy officials from each state and U.S. territory.
Shortly after the article came out it was announced that Estrella Seese has been replaced by Mark Glick.
October 2011: “Mark’s pioneering work in clean energy policy and project management, environmental stewardship, finance and federal and state grant acquisition will be invaluable in building a clean energy economy for Hawaii,” DBEDT Director Richard Lim said in a statement. “I’m confident that his commitment and drive will energize our efforts to create green initiatives and jobs for Hawaii.”

Governor Abercrombie has rapidly come to the realization his .org Staff simply does not have the experience required to run the State. So he is replacing his Young Turks with Democrat Old Hacks. How many top level appointees have left in the past few weeks? 3? 4?
As for Ms. Seese, it's my understanding that she never intended to take the job on a permanent basis and has, of late, been taking leave to provide care to an ailing family member (this info came to me BEFORE the appointment of Mr. Glick). So, this may or may not be part of the same "problem," whatever that is.
