The class war: Mortgage bankers vs. the people

by Larry Geller

How come the rich bankers always win??  Well, you know the answer as well as I do. It’s because this country is run (literally) by the rich bankers. Look who Obama put in charge of the economy.

One major strategy that would help keep people in their homes would be to allow bankruptcy judges to renegotiate mortgages. Makes sense, except to rich greedy bankers. Remember, these are the guys you can blame the economic meltdown on in the first place. And they seem to be still in the driver’s seat.

Here’s a video produced by the American News Project:

Did you catch the very last remark, “We need to keep giving to the PAC, on a regular basis, this fight’s coming back.”

Yes, the Mortgage Bankers Association will keep pouring money into bribes campaign contributions to make sure that bankruptcy judges can’t renegotiate mortgages and so hurt their gigs.

Would they have to give up even a single yacht if the toxic deals they made were renegotiated to allow families to stay in their homes?

I have seldom heard a better case for banning corporate contributions entirely, but certainly for supporting clean elections.

Check with your congresspeople on whether they are accepting money from the Mortgage Bankers Association and how they are voting on this issue. Yup, ask them both questions at once.
