Republican fury on Fast and Furious misplaced

by Larry Geller

The latest Republican mischief revolves around the “Fast and Furious” program which they (along with the NRA) are morphing into a weird way to push gun control.  Publicly, they express concern that the death of a border control agent can be attributed to this misguided program.

Misguided or not, Republicans somehow don’t get excited at all about misguided missiles killing large numbers of civilians in the mid-East. Heck, the agent killed might even have been a Democrat. Sorry, I’m getting very fed up with the circus that has replaced our government in Washington.

Meanwhile, Democrats have been “Slow and Meek” in countering the partisan attacks.

But investigative reporter Katherine Eban, in her article The Truth about the Fast and Furious Scandal (Fortune, 6/27/2012), has a different take on it.

It’s best to read the original article of course, but below is the video segment from yesterday’s Democracy Now featuring an interview with Eban. A transcript can be found here. Click the thingy at the lower right for full screen.
