Trouble posting comments from Firefox?

by Larry Geller

Every so often I receive an email from a reader saying they could not post a comment using the Firefox browser. This turns out to be a setting in Firefox that is easy to fix. It should cure the problem for all Blogger blogs.

In Firefox, go to Tools, Options, and the Privacy tab.  Then check the box that says "Accept third-party cookies".

Now, I’d rather run without that checkbox, but anyway, that’s the problem. In order to post a comment a Google cookie needs to be set.

There's no "Accept third-party cookies" in my Firefox under tools-options-privacy... but I did find a cookie from dissappeared news ;>)

Thanks for that. I can now post comments one again with Firefox - see!

Requiring those Captcha codes at least temporarily, in the hopes that it quells the flood of comment spam I've been receiving.
