Stop-rail hearing tomorrow in federal court—you can be there

by Larry Geller

Why read about it in the newspaper if you can be there in person—tomorrow (Tuesday, August 21) Judge A. Wallace Tashima will hear Honolulutraffic.com v. FTA et. al. That’s the case that seeks to stop Honolulu’s train from ever happening.

Who knows—history could be made in that hearing tomorrow.

It’s scheduled for 10 a.m. in the federal courthouse at 300 Ala Moana Blvd. Best to be there at least 15 minutes early—it could be crowded, and parking is not easy. There’s a parking lot on the Mauka side of the family court building (named Makai Parking Lot just to confuse us), but it’s likely to be full.

Once past security, take the elevator to the 4th floor. Someone will be there to point out the correct courtroom.

Meanwhile, in Judge Mollway’s courtroom, the DOE will be trying to avoid a finding of contempt and a garnishee summons in the Marcus I case. If the DOE decides to appeal to the 9th circuit, the cost of this lawsuit to taxpayers will simply soar. See: Taxpayers pay for DOE wrongdoing (8/14/2012). That case begins at 9:45.

Comments:

Last time I'll ever accept your invitation. Place was crawling. Cheek to cheek, some people not so freshly washed, noisy, congested....hey, come to think of it....it was just like a trip on the Crazy Train!
