It’s street warfare in California—Iraq war vet critically injured

by Larry Geller

Perhaps following a playbook written by Israeli forces, Oakland police may have fired a tear gas canister directly at a protester yesterday, fracturing his skull and sending him to the hospital in critical condition.

The protester is a two-tour Iraq veteran. As he was unconscious, bleeding and being given assistance, police lobbed a concussion grenade right at the area he was lying, according to a report on Democracy Now. The hospital reports that he suffered a fractured skull and brain swelling.

According to the report, Occupy Oakland re-took the area last night. No, this is not a report of rebels in Libya, it is happening on the streets of Oakland, California, USA.

The incident was mentioned in the Star-Bulletin in a short article on page A4. If you want to stay in touch with the Occupy movement and in particular with the street warfare breaking out in California, you’ll have to look to the web. Check out the Democracy Now article linked above for starters, and there is video available on YouTube and many websites.

It’s just a matter of time before police kill someone if this level of police violence is not stopped.

Comments:

Maybe the police wouldn't get violent if the people did what they were told.

And yesterday on the news was the departure of marines yet again to Afghanistan..for what? So they can return and be attacked by America's police departments while expressing their rights??? This is a screwed up attitude/action!Shameful to boot!
