What about some "Shock Doctrine" from the Left re News Corp?

by Larry Geller

Following Hurricane Katrina, as though acting out a chapter from Naomi Klein's "Shock Doctrine," serviceable public housing was shuttered and later demolished, public schools were totally privatized, and so forth. The Right took advantage of the opportunity to advance long-held ideologies at breakneck speed.

We're seeing the same thing right now at the national level. Republicans have long wanted to undo Social Security and Medicare, for example, and are taking advantage of the opportunity presented by the debt ceiling negotiations to see what they can get away with. Bam!

Bill Clinton got impeached when he dallied with an intern. Kapow! ACORN got taken down swiftly and efficiently by the Right. Zap! Pow!

Meanwhile, News Corp is in turmoil over its involvement with a phone tapping scandal.

Can the Left find and take an advantage? Was Fox News involved in any way? Isn't it worth finding out?

Is anyone working on this? I just want to leave the question on the table.
