ELOY — A major fight at a private prison Thursday afternoon left 10 inmates injured, three of them critically.

At approximately 1:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Eloy Fire responded to a call at Red Rock Correctional Center for an assault victim, which quickly expanded to 10 California inmates injured during a lunchtime battle at the facility.According to Eloy Fire Division Chief Danny Lorenz, seven were transported to hospitals. Three out of the seven had life-threatening injuries and were flown to Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix. The rest were transported by ground to Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.

Red Rock Correctional Center Riot

Published: Thursday, December 23, 2010 9:16 PM MST

NOTE: This is so sad, right before the Christmas holiday when incarcerated individuals connect with their families. What is interesting to me is that the facility quelled the riot in 10 minutes…How come Saguaro waited 15-20 minutes (according to the reports we’ve heard) before trying to quell the fight on July 26th?
