Betcha Fed ignores job stimulus again

by Larry Geller

I’m not an economist of course, but my theory has been that American corporations have found ways at last to eliminate pesky labor expenses and so increase profits. If so, the Fed should do nothing to stimulate job growth. Having to pay workers would hurt the Wall Street recovery.

Investors remain focused on the Federal Reserve's policy announcement this afternoon, due at 2:15 p.m. EDT. The main question is whether the Fed will make any further moves to spur economic growth.   [MarketWatch, US Stocks Drift, Materials Lag Ahead Of Fed Statement, 9/21/2010]
