Seabed leak? Maybe

by Larry Geller

Reports keep popping up on the Internet, if not the commercial press, that something may be seeping from the sea bed now that BP has capped the well. Maybe methane. One article is Gulf Oil Seep: Methane, Leak Suspected Near BP's Blown Out Oil Well, (Huffington Post, 7/18/2010). It includes this paragraph suggesting continued BP non-compliance with government orders:

The official is familiar with the spill oversight but would not clarify what is seeping near the well. The official said BP is not complying with the government's demand for more monitoring. BP spokesman Mark Salt declined to comment on the allegation, but said "we continue to work very closely with all government scientists on this."

Requiring those Captcha codes at least temporarily, in the hopes that it quells the flood of comment spam I've been receiving.
