Prelude to war?

The Israeli Air Force recently unloaded military equipment at a Saudi Arabia base, a semi-official Iranian news agency claimed Wednesday, while a large American force has massed in Azerbaijan, which is on the northwest border of Iran.

Both reports follow by less than a week the Pentagon’s confirmation that an unusually large American fleet sailed through the Suez Canal Saturday. Several reports stated that an Israeli ship joined the armada.   [Arutz Sheva, Reports: IAF Landed at Saudi Base, US Troops near Iran Border, 6/23/2010]

Comments:

The stupidity continues! The US and Israel Governments are out of control. What can ordinary citizens do to change this action?

The latest is that the aid ships may not sail from Iran or Lebanon. But one thing many people are doing is encouraging their local governments and businesses to take part in the growing BDS (Boycott Divestment Sanctions) movement. There is a website here.

Both Iran and Lebanon would be helping the movement more if they were to draw back and allow US allies like the Europeans to take the lead in breaking the blockade. Turkey played a heroic role and Israel really blew it with their murderous attack. Turkey is both a US ally and key ally to Israel. Israel could not afford to alienate them by murdering their citizens, but did anyways. Bad move.

The Europeans are more aware of the the oppression of Palestinians than Americans. Allow the Europeans to press things to a breaking point. The Israelis will lose if they attack the Europeans. And they will lose their blockade if they allow the European boats to break the blockade.

For the Iranians or even the Lebanese to "make big body" vis a vis the Israelis at this time would risk a foolish escalation.

Yes, I have long been a supporter of BDS. I am wondering when other countries in the world will begin to boycott American products?
