It had to happen—Pay for Pee on a discount airline

by Larry Geller

Coach Class, Business Class, First Class, No Class.

An airline will begin charging about $1.30 for bathroom use, according to Ryanair Goes Forth with Pay-Per-Pee System (Vanity Fair, 4/8/2010). It turns out that this is not an American airline, but an Irish discount airline.

American airlines are no slouches at penny-pinching, of course. Spirit Airlines has recently announced it will charge $45 for use of the overhead storage bins.

In the case of Ryanair, they will reportedly remove all but one toilet on the airliner and install a coin-operated lock for access to it.

Requiring those Captcha codes at least temporarily, in the hopes that it quells the flood of comment spam I've been receiving.
