DePledge live tweets Senate action

by Larry Geller

No matter what bills you are following, or if you’d like to observe our government at work but can’t watch an Olelo video, you can “be there” by following Advertiser reporter Derrick DePledge’s tweets.

It was hot and heavy on the Senate floor today, judging by the tweets. Click on the link above.

DePledge reports that the Senate backed the Constitutional amendment question for voters to determine if the BOE should be appointed by the gov. And that the Superferry study bill is dead. And that they voted to increase the barrel tax to $1.55.

Here’s an example tweet. This would be hard to learn elsewhere:

The 17 to 8 Senate vote to reject the ferry study was rare, since bills are usually sent back to committee rather than voted down.

To tune in, you don’t have to be a user of Twitter, just click here. Or why not just join Twitter already for news faster than the newspapers, faster than the blogs, in fact, pretty much as fast as can be had.
