Your emails needed today, and Advertiser comments on civil unions blog article locked…

by Larry Geller

I couldn’t make the rally for civil unions yesterday, so I eagerly awaited this morning’s Advertiser to read how it went.

Nothing.

Nothing? How come?

These days, when I don’t see a story in the paper about events at the Capitol, I check the Notebook blog written by Derrick DePledge and Peter Boylan. There is some mention of the rally there, at least, and other coverage of the issue, which must be decided in the next day or two.

But comments are closed on the article.

Closed? Why?

Not that I look for much wisdom from blog comments, just wondering.

n_Gen Image-53 It looks like today is the time to hurry up and get your emails out to all senators (at sens@capitol.hawaii.gov) or to your own senator. Or phone calls to your senator. Now’s the time if you haven’t called or written yet. Each call or email can make a difference. Do you have a fax? Try that. Do you belong to an organization? Will they call or email? Ask.

Requiring those Captcha codes at least temporarily, in the hopes that it quells the flood of comment spam I've been receiving.
