New Barf-O-Meter Index

by Larry Geller

Just a quick short mention tonight, I'll try to get back to it tomorrow—Brad Parsons has done additional research into wind and wave effects around Hawaii and released a new version of his Barf-o-Meter or Barf Index. It can be found here.

It's amazing that this kind of work hasn't been done before. It's a "know before you go" thing, like checking the weather forecast before you go out on a picnic to be sure there isn't a storm on the way.

It's applicable to any large capacity passenger ferry plying Hawaii waters, and we do have a good test case at present for further research. At least until Feb. 13, when the Superferry will be drydocked for work including rudder repair (thanks to Joan at Kauaieclectic.blogspot.com for this news).
